AND THERE IS MORE BLUE

Moving on the next page the first part up is blue confetti. I'm not complaining though as I love filling in the little spaces. Makes me sure I am making progress.

Yesterday was stitch group so you guessed it low stitch count. Really need to learn to stitch and chat at the same time.  Total for yesterday was 167. Should be a better count today because I have nothing to do but stitch. Cool and gray outside so not going out anywhere.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day

AND

Guess what happened at 1am this morning. You guessed it . I got a page finish. This page took me 32 days. Not bad if I do say so myself. I have now done 7 full pages and 6 partial pages. Now to decide if I go up another page or to the right.

It was a total of 527 stitches to finish the page.

The consensus on FB is that I should go to the right. So here is today's starting point.

Off to stitch group in a bit. We'll see how much progress I make. LOL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

Till tomorrow.

GLOOMY

So woke up this morning to a gray and gloomy day. Supposed to rain today and tomorrow. I'll take that over snow.

Yesterday I got closer to my page finish. I did 218 stitches so not many more to go. I should make my goal of a page finish by Friday.

One good thing about gray and gloomy. It's a good day to stay in and stitch.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

SILLY ME

You would think I would know better at my age. Stayed up till 2am watching movies last night. Then woke up at my regular time today so am operating on about 5 1/2 hours sleep.

I did 300 stitches yesterday. Filled in a lot of confetti and did some more blue.

Here is today's starting point.

I am also going to try for a page finish by Friday. Do you think I can make it? Approximately 500 stitches left.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

SOME DAYS

Some days are just better than others for stitching. Sunday seems to have been a good day for me. I did 408 stitches.

Total for last week is 2,067 stitches. I'll take it.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

GOOD MORNING

The sun is shining and I have all my chores done. Quick post here and then I am going to stitch the day away.

Had a great time at stitch group yesterday. (Forgot to post a starting photo yesterday).

On Friday I did 235 stitches and on Saturday 240. Not bad.

Here was what it looked like just before stitch group.

And here is today's starting point. I filled in some confetti and started that pretty pink on the right. Needed a break from blue and confetti.

I was also a bad girl at stitch group yesterday. I seem to have restarted my yarn addiction. I am taking a refresher knitting class in April so of course I needed these. And the book for my class.

The new owners at the LNS/LYS are baaaaad. They keep bringing in new stuff that we just can't resist. These had us ROTFL. They are so funny. I brought home 2.

This is the inside of the 2nd card.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

WHERE I HANG OUT ON THURSDAY AND SATURDAY

This is just a few pics of my LYS/LNS. I have a picture of the table where we sit and stitch but my phone does not talk to blogger so will have to take another picture on Thursday.

HELLO

As you can see I don't have the mental acuity today to come up with a catchy title.

Had a good day at stitch group yesterday. Actually got something done. Stitch total was 139.

I also signed up for a refresher knitting class. Yes they have hooked me back into knitting as if I don't have enough to do with stitching and crochet.

Today I had to run to Petco for some critter supplies and stopped at the LYS/LNS to pay for said knitting class. Can't wait.

Off to stitch now. Here is my starting point today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

THERE IS PROGRESS

Just not as much as the last few days. I should know better than to overdo it. But I felt good and had plenty of energy for once so kept on going long after I should have stopped. I forget that I will pay for it later.

I did do 131 stitches though so not a total loss.

Here is today's starting point and (stitch group day) need I say more. LOL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

LATE START

Had a busy morning today. Jessica and I did a recycle run and then I had to pick up a few things from the grocery store. I overdid it so now will have to sit and stitch for the rest of the day. To tired to do anything else. At least supper is planned out and every one can make their own lunch.

I only did 359 stitches yesterday. Not a bad amount.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

AND THERE IS BLUE

Lots and lots of blue. Yesterday I did 555 blue stitches. In the last two days that adds up to 1,062 blue stitches. Many more to come. I just checked the floss list in response to a question from a stitchy friend and there are 30 shades of blue in the chart and on this page there are 8 shades of blue where I'm working. Good thing I like blue.

Here is today's starting point.

A REALLY GOOD STITCHY DAY

Yesterday was the best stitching day I have had for a while. I did 507 stitches which brings the weeks total to 1,798. I am pleased with this. We shall see what this week brings in the way of stitching time.

Here is today's starting point. Should go fast as lots of large areas of one color.

Chores are done so I am off to stitch and read blogs now.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

BETTER

Stitch group was fun yesterday. I got a lot done and we had a good time chatting and gossiping.

Yesterday's total was 244 stitches. I managed to finish filling in all of the circles on this page of the mushroom lid. Now onward and upward.

Off to stitch now.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

CONFETTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I know it is necessary but I do get tired of  changing threads all the time. Love how it looks though.

Off to stitch group in a few minutes so this will be short.

I did 251 stitches yesterday so it was a good day as most of them were confetti.

Here is today's starting point. Again stitch group so we shall see how much I get done. LOL

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day

WHAT CAN I SAY

Yesterday was not a very productive stitchy day for me. I had stitch group and it was a retirement party for one of the ladies who has worked at the LNS/LYS for the last 25 years. There was a huge turnout and it was crowded and very chatty. Then after that I went to an art show where my best friend is displaying and selling her paintings. Finally got home around 8pm and was so tired I couldn't even look at my stitching/knitting/crocheting. The 2 glasses of wine at the art show didn't help either. All I wanted to do was go to bed.

All in all I did manage to do 44 stitches. Today is a quiet day. Hubby is still asleep, all my chores are done and today we will be eating leftovers so off to stitch I go.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

SO LUCKY

I got beautiful stitchy mail today all the way from England. My friend Michelle (also known as Mouse) from the yahoo group Friendly Stitchers that I belong to sent me a wonderful ornament as part of an exchange. I don't usually participate in exchanges but since she didn't have a partner for this exchange she decided to make it for me. I LOVE IT. It is in my favorite colors also. It will hang in a place of honor in my craft room.

I filled in some more confetti yesterday and also stitched some more blue. I'm getting there. 217 stitches yesterday.

Here is today's starting point. Again it is Thursday which is stitch group so not sure how much I will get done. I am also working as a greeter tonight at a local art show that my best friend is displaying at.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

BLUE

As you can see not very creative today. Probably because I stayed up till 2am watching TV and doing this. I decided I didn't like what I had previously knit so ripped it out and started again. Very relaxing to do.

Just a simple straight knitting scarf. Since I haven't knit for so long I am doing this to work on my tension etc.

I did put in 198 stitches yesterday. Somehow I just couldn't go to an even 200 LOL.

Here is today's starting point.

I did get to add a pretty plum color to the jar lid and am also carrying on with the blue.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

FILLING IN THE SPACES

Good day.

Yesterday was a good stitching day. I filled in a few spaces at the bottom of the jar lid, finished one blue and started another. Stitch total for yesterday was 337 stitches.

I also put in a round and a half on the neverending granny square.

Raining here today. Taco soup in the crock pot. Chores done. Off to stitch now.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

SUNNY AND COLD

Well what do you expect in Montana in March. Love the weather. Still have some snow on the ground but nothing in the forecast so far.

I made good progress yesterday. Did a bunch of confetti stitches at the bottom of the lid and finished a blue section at the top.

I didn't post my stitch count for Saturday yesterday as it was a 3 week SAL post.  So Saturday (at stitch group) I did 199 stitches and yesterday I did 186 stitches.  Total stitches for the week 1,222. Not bad but hoping for better this week as no appointments etc. Plenty of stitching time.

Okay I'll stop blathering now. Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

MARCH 12 SAL UPDATE

Here I am better late than never. I always seem to be last to post. I think I am the farthest time zone from everyone else in the SAL. They are posting while I am sleeping. I should post my update on Saturday night just to keep up with the Jones. But I never have been one to follow the pack so to speak. LOL.

I have been making good progress. The last time you saw The Universe in a Jar it looked like this.

I have had a page finish in between SAL updates. If you scroll down from this post you will see that photo.

Here is what it looks like today. I decided go up after my page finish instead of to the right as I wanted to stitch the top of the jar. Everyone here says it looks like one of the mushrooms from Super Mario Bros.

I love being part of this SAL. I get a lot of inspiration from the others. If you want to see some truly amazing stitching check out the others who are doing such beautiful work.

Till next month HAPPY STITCHING

STITCH GROUP TODAY

Good morning. Just a quick post today. Leaving for stitch group in a few minutes.

231 stitches yesterday. I have found a solution to blue and confetti burn out. I thread 2 needles with the blue I'm working with and when I have used both I pick another symbol in an entirely different color and do all the stitches I can find of that color. Then back to blue and repeat. Filling in a lot of confetti and getting a lot of blue done this way.

Today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

YAY IT'S FRIDAY

Not that it matters to me anymore since I'm retired but it used to be a big deal.

I got 190 stitches done yesterday. Hoping for much more today as I will be home alone this afternoon. Hubby is going for his tattoo and daughter is working so it will be nice and quiet here. Can't wait. Just me, Brandi and Elvira and they sleep all afternoon anyway.

Here is today's starting point. I am alternating blue(since there is a lot of it coming up) and other colors so I don't get burnt out again.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

THURSDAY

As you can see I was not feeling especially creative with my post title. Some days  are better than others for mental creativity.

I did get in 101 stitches yesterday.  I feel like I am making good progress.

Today is afternoon stitch group. I will be taking my knitting also to get help correcting my mistake.

Here is today's starting point.

It is snowing again. Not supposed to stop until tomorrow night. l love it. Great stitching weather.

Hope everyone has a great stitchy day.

SLEEPING IN

I am not a fan of sleeping in. My entire life I am up before 8am. When working and the kids were little it was 5am. Today I slept until 10am. I feel like I have lost half of the day. My hubby says that now that I am retired it is okay to sleep that late but I'm not wired like that. I enjoy early morning.

I have now gotten all my chores done so I can stitch for the rest of the afternoon. Yesterday I got back on track with 280 stitches. Back to the blue also.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

CARRYING ON

I don't know why I was so tired yesterday but am better today. Going to take it easy & just stitch today.

I only got 35 stitches done yesterday but I didn't entirely slack off. I put a round and a half into this. The never ending granny square. Hey it's still stitching just don't have to concentrate so hard.

Anyhoo here is my starting point today. Hopefully I will get more done.

Hubby is taking a nap and I have already mixed up the meatloaf for supper (it is relaxing in the frig) so now I am going to stitch.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

TIRED

Don't know how much stitching I will get in tonight. Just now picking it up. Husband has a stress test today & I was a nervous wreck. His heart is strong and healthy thank goodness.

While he was having the test I did a couple of errands and then went back & picked him up. We stopped at Noodle Express for lunch as he was not allowed to eat before the test & I had no appetite.

When we got home I was exhausted and took a short nap in my chair which made Elvira happy. I woke up with her in my lap.

Now I have ordered pizza for supper and am getting ready to stitch.

I only did 37 stitches yesterday but hey they are 37 I don't have to do today.

Here is today's starting point which isn't much different from yesterday.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful stitchy day.

AND THEN THERE IS KNITTING.

As if I don't have enough to do between my cross stitch and crochet I have also started knitting again.
I blame it on the ladies at my stitch group. Most of them are also knitters and bring their gorgeous projects to group to work on. Also stitch group meets at the local LNS/LYS and we are surrounded by gorgeous yarns.

Here is my progress so far. Just doing a basic scarf to get my rhythm back. It has been at least 30 years since I quit knitting. As you can see I made a mistake so am waiting patiently till Tuesday when I can go in and have Ginny help me fix it.

I was all over the place yesterday. I cross stitched at group and then knitted(till mistake) and crocheted on the never ending granny square when I came home. Today I have been crocheting but will be picking up my stitching when I get done here.

Hubby is watching Walking Dead (which I don't watch) so I have my headphones on and am listening to music.

Here is my starting point today. More of the Mario mushroom. Yesterday's total was 86 stitches.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

MUSHROOM?

I got a lot of stitching done yesterday. 440 stitches to be exact.

I think I have a mushroom person from Super Mario Bros hiding in my stitching. LOL.

I have stitch group today and I am also taking my knitting so we shall see how much progress I make today.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

LOVING THIS

I am really enjoying the colors in this piece. I am excited to stitch on it every day.

Stitch group was good yesterday. We met the new owners of the LNS/LYS and they are very nice and are not planning on any major changes in the groups etc.  Big relief for all of us.

I did get 171 stitches done yesterday. Not a bad total.

Here is today's starting point.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

MORE RED

Sometimes thinking of a title for the post is harder than writing the post. I'm apparently not very creative today.

I did manage some stitching yesterday after getting home from lunch out and some shopping errands.

We had lunch at Wheat Montana. Great food and service. Then we hit North 40 for bird food, pickles and jelly. Then it was off to Michaels to pick up some storage containers for my stitching, Home Depot for some things Jim needed then home to collapse. I was exhausted but after resting for a bit I did stitch.

238 stitches. So here is today's starting point. More red. Loving it.

I have stitch group from 2-6pm today so don't know how much progress will be made.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

WIIINNNNDY

They may call Chicago the windy city but they have nothing on Great Falls. Steady 30-40 mile an hour winds today with gusts up to 60 miles an hour. Nothing to stop the wind when it comes in from the plains. Sunny and cold also.

We have errands to do today so don't know how much stitching I will get done. Hoping for some at least.

Since it is now March here is a picture of my February TUSAL. The lid is to keep helpful paws out of the orts.

Yesterday I did 271 stitches. Love stitching the reds.

Here is today's starting point if I get a chance to stitch.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy day.

Till tomorrow.
